ABOUT
Dr Matthew Farrugia is a Family Medicine Specialist (GP) with a strong commitment to patient-centered care. He graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Malta in 2018 and completed his foundation program training in 2020. Following this, he pursued a specialization in family medicine, passing the Malta College of Family Doctors' summative exam in 2023 at the top of his class. He obtained the MMCFD and MRCGP (Int) qualifications and was awarded the prestigious Saviour Cilia Award.Throughout his career, Dr Matthew has gained valuable experience working at Mater Dei Hospital and Primary Health Care Malta before fully transitioning to private practice in 2024. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive and personalized healthcare to his patients.

* The above prices are for an standard 15 minute consultation. More than 1 complaint may incur higher charges depending on the time taken during the consultation.
** Routine panel includes Full Blood Count, Renal Profile, Liver Profile, Lipid Profile, Thyroid Function Test, Uric Acid, Fasting Blood Glucose, HbA1C, Folate, B12, Ferritin. PSA only for males. (on GOV services). Additional tests may incur higher fees.
*** Additional person meaning, seeing 2 or more people in the same household. The price is increased by 10 - 20 euros/person. Price variation dependent on nature of complaint and time taken on complaint for additional person.
Routine Blood letting
Blood Tests Available
If you are a Maltese ID card holder the following blood tests are available on Government services: Full Blood Count, Renal Profile, Liver Profile, Lipid Profile, Thyroid Function Test, Uric Acid, Fasting Blood Glucose, HbA1C, Folate, B12, Ferritin. PSA only for males.Any other blood tests must be booked by a consultant or else can be ordered through private laboratory services.
Fasting
Fasting is required for cholesterol (lipid) and sugar (glucose) testing, You have to fast for 10 hours prior to your blood test however note that water is allowed anytime.

Kindly note that when booking an appointment for a blood test it does not include a consultation - please book a separate appointment if you require a consultation.It is unwise to book blood tests if you have a specific symptom or medical problem without consulting a doctor. Different medical issues require different tests. This booking system is meant to be used for routine blood testing.
